Excelsior Roto-Moulding’s product stock has quadrupled over the last three months and 100 percent of products are now delivered on time.
Excelsior has increased its stockholding capacity to an unprecedented level
The improvements are the result of the introduction of 24/5 shifts, personnel changes and the installation of a new mezzanine floor, specifically designed to facilitate increased storage capacity.
Earlier this year, development of the firm’s stockholding capacity was boosted by the launch of the UK rotational moulding manufacturing industry’s first, customer-accessible, live online stock control system.
The online database is updated daily, enabling Excelsior’s customers to quickly and efficiently respond to their own customers’ enquiries regarding product availability, without the need to contact Excelsior for clarification.
Polyethylene water tank and container supplier, Tanks Direct, is one of Excelsior’s long-term customers and says it has benefitted from its recent developments.
Commenting, Tanks Direct Manager, Pete Norman, said: “Excelsior’s innovations have affirmed its status as one of our most excellent suppliers. Delivery has been markedly quicker to date this year, and the online stock control system has enabled us to offer a more efficient service to our own customers.”
Lancashire-based Excelsior manufactures its own range of safety steps, grit bins, materials handling containers, exhibition display cases and equestrian products, as well as working in partnership with customers to design and manufacture bespoke products across a huge range of sectors.
Excelsior’s Managing Director, Giles Fielding, commented: “As companies like Amazon increase people’s expectations of rapid delivery, we are delighted to be able to meet these expectations within the trade arena.
“At one point recently, we held almost 1000 materials handling trucks in stock, and at any given time we have over 900 of our best-selling trucks and lids in stock. Figures like these have enabled us to guarantee delivery on time and have led to huge customer benefits.”
