The programme for the upcoming seminar has now been finalised.
The Manchester Polymer Group and the Rubber in Engineering Group have now finalised the programme for their upcoming seminar, which will incorporate a celebration of the host city – Manchester – being crowned the European City of Science for 2016.
The one-day event on May 16th, entitled ‘Rubber – a Resilient Future’ is the third seminar of its type and aims to recognise the city’s unique scientific heritage and contribution to scientific discovery, innovation and industry.
The focus of the event will be ‘Elastomers in Extreme Environments’, where new and emerging developments that allow elastomers to operate under extreme conditions of pressure, temperature or chemical exposure, will be discussed.
This year, following a Keynote from Birla Carbon, papers will include developments from Albis, Artis (oilfield), Clwyd Compounders, 3M, Weatherford (deep drilling) and NGF (automotive).
Not forgetting the 2016 City of Science theme, the Manchester Materials Science Centre will be talking about Graphene in different elastomers, followed by the Leader of Trafford Council talking about taking advantage of the Northern Powerhouse.
In addition to papers about the HSP rubber devulcanisation process and BASF stabilisers, delegates will be updated on sources of assistance and support from RAPRA and the KTN.
The successful format of previous MPG Rubber Seminars will be followed with an all-day event based on a mixture of papers, Table Top displays and networking opportunities.
