BMTEK ETL 1.4 automatic bag-making machine
Derbyshire-based supplier to the flexible packaging industry, Optimation Ltd, is holding a three-day demonstration event this week to launch a new bottom-seal bag-making machine in the UK.
The event, which is taking place from Tuesday 4th November – Thursday 6th November at its premises in Ilkeston, will allow visitors to see a BMTEK ETL 1.4 automatic bag-making machine, designed for the production of LDPE, HDPE, MDPE and both regenerated and biodegradable plastic bags and sacks.
The ETL 1.4 is said to combine well-proven engineering, electronics and innovative software, as well as providing constant production speeds and quick start-up and size change. The machine also features a motorised un-wind to facilitate the movement of large and heavy reels.
Designed to align with the height of a pallet for ease of loading the reel onto the motorised rollers, the system allows two or more reels to be loaded easily with no need for a shaft inside. This makes it possible to utilise reels with damaged cores. A tear line perforation system is installed between the rubber rollers and the distance of the perforation is adjusted through a roller for length control.
The machine has a pass protected touch screen controller with the ability to implement and control a wide range of operations including speed of cycle, bag length and repeat weld (twice sealing on the same bag) with the possibility to delay the film advance in order to make a stronger seal or to have two separate seals at the bottom of the bag. It is also possible to pre-set the number of bags for each batch and the total number of batches. Up to 100 programmes can be retained within its memory and there is the capability to constantly update software through USB.
The motorised double winder allows continuous winding of perforated product as a second reel can be started as soon as the first one is complete which has the effect of reducing downtime.
