KraussMaffei is expanding its expertise in reaction process machinery for the production of interior trim for the automotive industry with a new partnership.
The German machinery giant has partnered with 3CON, a Austrian-based specialist in laminating, thermoforming and edgefolding interior automotive components.
"3CON is a value partner to have at our side; together with them, we can also offer our customers technologies for laminating, edgefolding and thermoforming,” commented Nicolas Beyl, President of the Reaction Process Machinery segment of the KraussMaffei Group.
In the area of interior trim, KraussMaffei's reaction process machinery is used for the production of foamed or back-foamed parts for vehicles with surfaces requiring high aesthetic quality, including instrument panels, door coverings, door panels and window trim.
KraussMaffei currently provides single-source customised system solutions, including moulds, mixing and metering systems through to equipment for cutting and punching finished components. Through the partnership with 3CON, KraussMaffei says it is now expanding its system expertise and the two companies say they hope to have “close domestic and international cooperation in sales and project engineering” going forward.
