ICS Cool Energy has launched a range of Temperature Control Units (TCUs) for the plastics industry that it says can offer better quality and flexibility in production.
The new ‘i-Temp’ units give customers powerful temperature regulation and cooling capabilities, says ICS, with the range including both water and oil heaters.
“We have listened to customers across various marketplaces and their calls were clear, for larger units up to 360kW in heating power and steam to water units that can use existing steam on site to heat up processes through our TCUs,” explained Dave Palmer, Director of ICS Cool Energy’s Heater Division.
“Customers in the plastics markets need higher temperatures on water units, so we now have two more ranges that can reach 160°C and others that can achieve 200°C.
“We have also changed our controller to introduce interfaces with the majority of the injection moulding manufacturers, along with advanced features such as mould management, and alarm limits on flow and temperature for extra control on quality.”
The new i-Temp range offers more cooling, more temperatures and has a better system controller for all units, says ICS. Whereas previous ranges ended with a 36kW as standard, the i-Temp range has been expanded to 72kW as standard with an availability to reach 360kW; can offer temperatures up to 200°C on water-based units (with 160°C and 200°C ranges); and up to 350°C for heat transfer with oil-based equipment as standard and available up to 400°C.
“The range of both oil and water units offers a wide variety of pump models with flexible flow rates and higher cooling duties,” continued Palmer.
“The units can be tailored to a customer’s specific requirements and even include features such as mould management. This aspect enables the user to download information onto an SD card from the machine and upload a parameter list, ensuring accurate process control for industries including plastics. The cascade control functions are also able to control product temperature with probes going into the jacketed vessel, resulting in higher accuracy and a quicker reaction time.”
