TECHNICAL plastic giant Altuglas International has returned to the market with two new products.
The company, a subsidiary of France-based producer Arkema, has announced its new Altuglas II UVA and Altuglas P55 acrylic sheets to the aerospace markets.
Both new sheets are pre shrunk and designed for use in several aircraft components such as military canopies, aircraft windshields, side windows and wing tip lights.
Altuglas II UVA acrylic sheet is available in thicknesses varying from 0.125 to 1.000 inches and Altuglas claims it has excellent weathering qualities.
The P55 sheet ranges from 0.125 to 2.000 inches and can be biaxially stretched, says Altuglas.
The sheets, known as ‘acrylic glass’ are said to have superior properties to glass and meet military specifications.
