Producer of high quality masterbatches and concentrates for the thermoplastics industry, Colloids, has revealed it will unveil technical product advances when it exhibits at Fakuma in Friedrichshafen from 14-18 October.
The company, which is reporting growth across all sectors worldwide, has enhanced its range of ‘PACE’ PET black masterbatches with a number of novel product introductions, including those that are compliant with the latest EU food contact regulations and those for use specifically in CPET.
A number of completely new black masterbatches have been introduced to the company's PACE PET range using a novel pigmentation system that is not based on carbon black.
Available in nucleating (PACE BLACK 15018) and non-nucleating versions (PACE BLACK 15017), Colloids says these products offer effective colouration and superior gloss levels in sheet extrusion to those obtainable using carbon black products. They also improve the recyclability of PET waste.
“The segregation of PET waste streams is enhanced because the masterbatch is compatible with the infra-red detection systems used for sorting and identification,” explained Josephine Bagnall, Sales and Marketing Director for Colloids.
Also new to Colloids PACE range, and on display at Fakuma, are carbon black and solvent black masterbatches based on PBT. These are primarily aimed at the PBT compounding market, says the company, where they bring the traditional advantages of such colourants, including high gloss, compatibility in glass filled systems and an ability to optimise the moulding behaviour, but with the benefit of full compatibility with the host polymer.
At the trade fair, Colloids will also introduce its newest additions in its Polycarbonate-based black masterbatch, black masterbatch based on PA 66 as well as masterbatches to modify frictional properties.
Finally, the show will be an opportunity for visitors to find out about the company’s manufacturing growth in China, where its first overseas plant in Changshu City is now ramping up production, as well as meeting Erik Ramaker, the company’s recently appointed International Business Development Manager.
Commenting on the recent overseas developments, as well as the technical product advances due to be exhibited at the show, Baganll said: “Customers recognise the benefits of both technical excellence and proximity to market – each is key to delivering the best masterbatch on the right commercial terms on time.”
