Plastics distributor, RESINEX, and developer, Janssen Preservation & Material Protection (PMP), are combining forces to introduce new antimicrobial masterbatches to the plastics market.
The SANAFOR products will allow users to differentiate their products by imparting antimicrobial properties into thermoplastic products to offer protection from potentially harmful microbes.
Primary applications are in healthcare, textiles and footwear, home and leisure and industrial and automotive applications. The masterbatches can be added during processing using conventional systems.
The partners say adding SANAFOR not only provides protection from many microorganisms but, in tune with public concerns about hygiene, also increases the value of the resultant products. Consumers, they added, view the SANAFOR brand an indicator of cleanliness and wellbeing thanks to its antimicrobial properties.
