Arbor's Allrounder 1120H
Arburg says the American market is ready for its new large machine, with the model already receiving high demand from US customers.
Premiering its Allrounder 1120H injection moulding machine at NPE in Orlando this week, Arburg’s Managing Director of Sales, Gerhard Böhm, said the company had sold the machine on display at the expo and has already received further enquiries.
“At the NPE, our Allrounder 1120 H is celebrating its American premiere. This will please injection moulding companies in the US in particular because they have in the past often expressed the wish of obtaining larger machines from Arburg,” said Böhm.
“With our new large machine, we have expanded our clamping force range upwards by 30 percent. It features an impressive clamping force of 730 tonnes or 6,500 kN. The market for the Allrounder 1120 H in America is ready.”
The first Allrounder 1120 H machines are already in operation at customers in Germany, where they were first launched in 2016, with Böhm stating they have been “very well received,” adding, “orders have been placed for further ones.”
The key features of the new large machine include a new colour and design, as well as the use of the company’s ‘Gestica’ control system.
Böhm explained that the next steps in the redesign of Arburg’s other existing machine sizes to include these key features have been completed, with the Allrounder 920 H having been available worldwide since March 2018 and the Allrounder 820 H set to make its international sales launch at the Fakuma trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in October 2018.
“Very Satisfied”
Arburg’s sales figures in 2017 were brought into play, with Böhm highlighting a year in which the company was “very satisfied” with the record sales of €698 million and a “very good” capacity utilisation rate to which no change is anticipated in the coming year.
He confirmed that the US market is the company’s strongest in terms of exports, with the significance of the continent for Arburg outlined by its commitment to highlighting and exhibiting its latest technology for Industry 4.0 and ‘digital transformation’ during NPE.
The company said that it is "too early to tell" what the implications of the 100 percent immediate expensing on equipment introduced in the United States in January 2018 would have, and that the picture would be clearer at the end of the current financial year. However, Managing Director of Arburg's US subsidiary, Friedrich Kanz, said that "it would definitely be an advantage."
Transformative Systems
Heinz Gaub, the company’s Managing Director of Engineering and Technology, underlined the importance of digitisation for customers both in the US and globally, stating that both Industry 4.0 and transformative systems “ultimately have a shared objective” of efficient production.
Speaking of the examples on the company’s exhibit at NPE, Gaub said: “With these networked and automated production cells as an example, we are demonstrating how customer requirements can be directly integrated into the value-added chain, how high-volume parts can be individualised cost-effectively, and how new business models can be developed.”
Gaub once again stressed that the company sees itself as a “technology provider” as opposed to machinery supplier, stressing the need to offer more than merely machine engineering solutions to support processors on their path into the future.
