SABIC's efforts to reverse the tide

The phrase "SABIC said its presence at K 2013 is a sign of its commitment to the EU market" is now questionable. On the 19th of November 2013 Sabic has sent a letter to suppliers and contractors explaining the company's plans to reduce costs. SABIC calls the program "WIN" and emphasizes that cost reduction and revenue enhancing schemes will be supported mainly through ongoing staff reductions and expectations towards suppliers to significantly reduce pricing levels.
While it is every enterprise's habit to negotiate pricing with suppliers and contractors on individual contracts, this particular move by the company looks like a desperate measure to reverse the tide but could be the forebode for more bad tidings for the european sites within the group.
